Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike Condemns And Bans Biafra Street Protests

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has banned all forms of street protests in the state, condemning the street protests by the Indigenous People of Biafra which have crippled commercial activities in the state. The governor declared : Quote "let no one be in doubt of the resolve of the Rivers State Government and the security agencies to maintain law and order at all cost within the State and preserve the unity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria." In a state-wide broadcast on Tuesday night, Governor Wike decried the movement of protesters from neighbouring States into Rivers State, noting that they have inflicted injuries on other citizens going about their lawful businesses.

The traditional ruler of Egede, Igwe Polycarp Oyigbo, lamented the recurrence of nomadic attacks against his subjects and wondered why government had not been able to offer measures towards saving them from these attacks. Manchester United's stars have a new nickname for manager Louis van Gaal. The Dutchman is now known as "Daisy" around their Carrington training ground as part of a running joke about his slow driving. United's players gave him he nickname in reference to the film Driving Miss Daisy. According to The Sun, it came about because Van Gaal is so scared of driving into ditches and pot holes around Carrington, he drives at a snail's pace. Players have reportedly learned to avoid being stuck behind him, as they know their journey could take significantly longer.

3 people have been shut dead at the pro-Biafra protest currently happening on major roads of Port Harcourt. The source says the protesters started from Eleme Junction and are  currently marching down Aba road,  heading to the Government House. Soldiers on scene started throwing tear gas and firing real bullets to scare the protesters but ended up killing 3 people. The protest which is still on going, started as a result of the arrest and detention of Nnamdi KANU,the Director of Radio Biafra.
