Robbers are reported to have attacked a filling station around the Ejigbo area of Lagos state, making away with about N9m on a motorcycle. P.M News reports that the incident had occurred last week, as the staff of the filling station prepared to take the proceeds of 3 days worth of sales, to the bank. Residents of the area are reported to have speculated that the robbers only had access to the information pertaining to the movement of cash, by an insider.

Argentinian police have reportedly arrested a man who is accused of fathering 8 children with his daughter over a period of 22 years. Domingo Bullicio , 56, is reported to have turned his daughter, Antonia , into his personal sex slave as soon as she turned 15 after his wife had walked out on him with three of their other children.
 Bullicio is reported to have fled after finding out that his daughter had finally mustered enough courage to speak to the authorities asking for help.

 Two persons suspected to be agents of one of the political parties involved in Saturday’s supplementary governorship election in Bayelsa have been arrested for allegedly snatching a ballot box. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspects were arrested by soldiers at Otuokpoti Unit 1, Ward 2, Ogbia Local Government Area, where the box was allegedly snatched. The suspects were said to have forcefully carried the ballot box while polling was ongoing at the unit. The incident caused pandemonium at the unit but after the suspects were taken away, accreditation and voting resumed.

Chairman of the Nigeria Shipowners Association, NISA, Capt. Niyi Labinjo,  has said that the country is losing N80 billion daily to petroleum products smuggled into the country. Petroleum Tankers In an exclusive interview with Vanguard, Labinjo explained that half the 1.8 million litres daily national need of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, is smuggled into the country. The NISA boss noted that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, said the daily PMS need of the country is 1.8 million litres and that it (NNPC) only supplies half the quantity while the other half is smuggled into the country.

The lifeless body of a two-month old baby girl, with her neck twisted, was found in a carton at a refuse dump located near Salvation Army Primary School, Sabo, Ikorodu, Lagos, yesterday. The body was reportedly discovered at about 8a.m. by a man who went to the site to defecate. He raised the alarm. Passers-by, especially women, rained curses on whoever could have killed and abandoned the baby. They, thereafter, invited officials of the Ambulance Unit of the Ministry of Health.

Abia State Commissioner of Police, Habila Joshak, has said that Corporal Patrick Kalu who allegedly killed a father of two children, Ikeokwu Onyemachi, in Aba, Abia State, is now undergoing orderly room trial. The Commissioner disclosed this during a condolence visit to the bereaved family, assuring them that the policemen would be dismissed if found culpable. Recall that Corporal Kalu, in company of three of his colleagues, killed Onyemachi, a Port Harcourt-based businessman as they were going home after depositing the corpse of his friend’s father, Pa Okike, at Group Medical Practice, GMP, mortuary when the Police team attempted to seize their motorcycle.

FOUR days after the arrest of the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, his family has cried out, demanding that he should be released or charged to court. The family raised alarm that it was worried about the health and safety of Metuh. It will be recalled that officials of the EFCC, Tuesday, arrested Olisa Metuh for interrogation and he has since remained there. The family’s statement said, among other things: “Whereas the charges for which Chief Metuh is being detained for over 48 hours now had not been formally made known. “We have confronted our son with the allegations (in the media) and he assured us that they are completely false.”
