PDP gov aspirant files— Abia Court Verdict

ABAAn aspirant in the December 8, 2014, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primaries in Abia State, Chief  Friday  Nwosu, has filed a notice of appeal at the Supreme Court, challenging the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Owerri Division, which sacked Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu from office and declared Dr. Alex Otti of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, as the governor-elect. Vanguard gathered that Nwosu had filed a separate suit at the Federal High Court, Owerri, praying the court to declare him the candidate of the PDP at the 2015 governorship elections, alleging that Gov. Ikpeazu presented forged tax documents. The Alake of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo was yesterday installed as the first Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo, FUNAI. The monarch was installed by President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by Prof A. I. Essien during the 4th Matriculation ceremony of the institution at Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State. Speaking after his conferment, the monarch who thanked President Buhari for finding him worthy of such appointment charged the students to shun cultism and other vices. “I urge you to shun social vices and be law-abiding and serious minded in your studies, because those who do not read are to be pitied than those who cannot read. “Who you are today and where you will be in the next 25 years is directly proportional to your reading habits, the relationship you cultivate with others and your closeness to God”.
