Boko Haram: Buy bomb detectors for mosques

Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman, National Vice President of the First Aid Group of Jama’atul Nasril Islam, on Thursday advised management of mosques to introduce bomb detectors for the security of adherents. Suleiman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto that proactive security measures would greatly assist in resolving the current security challenges in the country. He called on wealthy Nigerians to assist the various mosque in acquiring the gadgets as part of their contribution to end the senseless killings of innocent Nigerians. He said Nigerians, irrespective of their religious beliefs, should assist the Federal Government in fighting insurgency. Suleiman also appealed to Nigerians to complement the effort of security agencies by giving useful intelligence reports that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of insurgents. (NAN)

Five killed as cult groups clash in Ikorodu

The fight between the Aye and Eiye confraternities was said to have started around 1am during Itunmeko street carnival. It was gathered that trouble ensued after the Eiye cult group killed two Aye (Black Axe) members who were invited to the carnival. The two were said to have been killed on their way home. The Aye cult was said to have taken the fight to Eiye group, in anger, at the wee hours of yesterday, killing three of its members.

Fake revenue collectors arrested in Lagos

No fewer than eleven persons have been apprehended in connection with illegal collection of revenue at Ile Epo Market in Abule Egba, Lagos state.Their arrest followed a petition by Agbado/Oke Odo Local Council Development Area to the Oke Odo Police Division and Lagos Police Command on unauthorized revenue collectors’ activities in the market. According to reports, the suspects who were said to have in the past attacked and chased away council officials from doing their job, also alleged to have forcibly collected toll, trading and offloading revenue from truck drivers bringing goods into the market.
