Police arrest pastor who raped his 14-year-old step-daughter

A 42-year-old pastor, Chidiebere Ikpa, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter in the Surulere area of the state.The unidentified victim, a Senior Secondary 2 student who reported the incident to the police, insisted she was raped by the pastor on several occasions. However, on his part, Ikpa denied the allegation, disclosing that it was a neighbour, whom he identified only as Richard, that defiled the 14-year-old girl, but he decided not to report the matter to the police because he (Ikpa) had a forgiving character.

Change is not in Buhari’s budget yet – Ekiti lawmaker

The Senator representing Ekiti South, Biodun Olujimi has stated that the 2016 budget proposal submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari has no element of change.Speaking on the 2016 budget consideration at the senate, the lawmaker noted that the government needed to go back to make adjustments on the budget.

ABIA STATE: Appeal Court Judgment On Abia Can’t Be Faulted – Lawyers

SENIOR lawyers have praised the courage of the Justices of the Court of Appeal on the judgment delivered on December 31, last year, which declared the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, governorship candidate, Dr Alex Otti as winner of the Abia State governorship election. The court, presided over by Justice Oyebisi Omoleye, nullified the declaration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as winner of the election. Also on the panel were Justice Chinwe Iyizoba, Justice Samuel Oseji, Justice Tijani Abubakar and Justice Jamilu Tukur. Otti and APGA were the appellants, while Ikpeazu, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were the respondents. The Court of Appeal declared Otti as winner of the gubernatorial election and supplementary poll held on April 11 and 25, 2015.
