Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen yesterday invaded Girei Local Government Area, LGA of Adamawa State, killing the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Okozie Okereofor, in charge of Vunokilang Police Station, some policemen attached to him and 60 others. Said  that the late DPO was transferred from Okigwe in Imo State and had only spent two months in the command.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega station at the Central Business District in Abuja has been gutted by fire. A member of staff at the mega station who preferred anonymity told the News agency of Nigeria(NAN) on Monday that the fire started around 10 p.m. on Sunday ‎when a tanker was discharging fuel to the tanks of the petrol station. The source said that no casualty nor injury was‎ recorded but noted that some sections of the filling station were affected by the inferno.

Three staff of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment on Monday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos, over an alleged fraud of N28.5m.The Prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, said the offences were committed between November 17, 2015 and December 4, 2015 at the ministry in Alausa, Lagos.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun, has stated that the ruling party is currently broke.Oyegun, said despite the financial challenges, the party does not intend to bother President Muhammadu Buhari because raising funds for the party was not part of his national assignment as the Commander-in-Chief.
