Rooney and Schneiderlin miss Man Utd clash with Wolfsburg

Louis van Gaal will be without two of his key men as his side go to Germany in search of the victory need to make certain of their place in the last-16 of the Champions League Manchester United will be without Wayne Rooney and Morgan Schneiderlin for their crucial Champions League clash against Wolfsburg on Tuesday night. The Red Devils need a victory in Germany to secure their place in the last-16 of the competition, but will have to do it without their captain, Rooney, as he continues to recover from an ankle injury. Schneiderlin, meanwhile, was forced off with a hip problem against West Ham on Saturday and is not fit enough to play in Germany.

Justin Bieber knocks Justin Bieber off the top of the UK singles chart

Justin Beiber has replaced himself as number one on the UK Singles chart. Last week, Canadian pop star Justin Bieber was in the top spot with ‘Sorry’ and now he’s still sitting at number one, but this time it’s with single ‘Love Yourself’. Both singles are taken from his latest album Purpose. Bieber is also dominating the top five, with ‘What Do You Mean’ taking the number four spot. ‘Love Yourself’ racked up 5.97million streams in the UK this week to move up one spot, according to the Official Charts Company.   ‘Sorry’ clocked 5.5million streams online and Bieber’s impressive chart feat has also seen him entering the record books again, as only two other artists have ever replaced themselves on top of the UK singles chart.  The last artist to do so was Elvis Presley in 2005, when reissues of ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and ‘One Night/I Got Stung’ hit Number one in succession. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the December 5th governorship election in Bayelsa state inconclusive following the cancellation of the voting in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State.

Mr Ayodele Fayose has raised the alarm that Nigeria under President Buhari was fast becoming a shame, describing the failed attempt by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the Bayelsa State governorship election as clear invitation to anarchy. The governor, who said it was shameful that the two elections conducted by INEC under Buhari’s kinsman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu were inconclusive, called on all well-meaning Nigerians and the international community to rise up in condemnation of the APC government’s plot to destroy democracy in the country.

President Buhari today presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting and approved N6 trillion expenditure for 2016 Budget under the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF). Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, spoke with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.‎ According to him, an oil price of $38 per barrel of crude oil and 2.2 million production barrels per day were projected in the framework.
