Nafdac Staff Begins Nationwide Strike

Activities were brought to a halt in all NAFDAC offices nationwide due to the ongoing 7 days warning strike declared by the Federal Area Council (FAC) of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), which is saddled with the responsibility of protecting the interests of its staff members. The chairman of the NAFDAC branch of MHWUN, Comrade Olu Ogundola, said that NAFDAC offices will remain under lock and key until their plights are met by the management and the Federal government. Com. Ogundola also declared that after the 7 days warning strike and nothing happened, the Union may consider an indefinite strike, which may last for months.

No fewer than five casualties, including two policemen, a pregnant woman and two commercial bike riders, were recorded in an armed robbery operation that was executed at the Agbara Industrial Estate area of Ogun State on Thursday.

Buhari Sends N465.64bn Supplementary Budget to N'Assembly

With only six weeks left to the end of the year, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sent a supplementary budget of N465,636,926,857 to the National Assembly for appropriation. The president also sought for an upward review of the initial N882.1 billion borrowing in the 2015 budget to N2.103 trillion to finance the budget.

THE ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNALS

The winding down of the election petition tribunals nationwide earlier this month is another evidence that our democracy is maturing. Safe for Taraba State, nowhere did prosecution of any petition or its outcome lead to any outbreak of violence. And it is gratifying that even the tragic fracas in Taraba was quickly brought to an end. We think this is noteworthy and commendable.

'N220bn Micro-credit Funds Lying at CBN for States'
