Okezie Ikpeazu: Sacked Abia Governor yet to receive certified copy of judgement
The Abia State
Government has urged the judiciary to not let it be manipulated by some
politicians who do not care if the state turns into a chaos as long as
shady scheme is successful.
The government, led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu,
who was on December 31, 2016 ordered to vacate his seat by the Appeal
Court, said that what the people of the state desire is good governance,
which they have experienced in the first 200 days of the Governor.
Speaking on behalf of the government, Chief Press Secretary to Ikpeazu, Mr Godwin Adindu,
stated that the decision of the Court of Appeal panel could incite
anarchy in the state if not for the Governor's continual peaceful
disposition.
He added that Ikpeazu is yet
to get certified true copies of the judgment, which was delivered seven
days ago, and according to the constitution the Governor has seven days
deadline to appeal the ruling at the Supreme Court.
"Abia
State is not for sale and nobody should trifle with the destiny of the
people. All the people involved in this grand conspiracy to cause
havoc, anarchy and bloodshed in Abia, should steer clear of the state”,
he said.
