The Kogi State governor-elect, Alhaji
Yahaya Bello, has unfolded the development agenda of his government
promising to give the state a new economic beginning.

Bello is optimistic that the state would be one of the best economy in the next four years.
This, according to him, is because the state is unique not just in her development potential but even her history.
“As the only state bordered by 10 states, Kogi has the geographical potential to develop rapidly by leveraging on that and also her proximity to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The history of the people is filled with rich cultures and richer human capacity to excel against all odds.
By natural endowment, Kogi is blessed by great fertile lands that
confer agricultural potentials on the state and importantly, confluence
of Rivers Niger and Benue places Kogi as a great fishing and tourism
potential. And our people are hardworking and very resourceful; Kogi is
blessed with human resources and farming is the major occupation of our
people that is why agric would be our major priority.
