Nigeria needs God’s intervention to overcome current challenges – Gbenga Daniel

Gbenga-Daniel
Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has urged Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention for the country to overcome current challenges confronting the country.

Daniel made the call at the yearly Christmas Concert of the choir and orchestra of Apostolic Faith Church, West and Central District (WECA) at the church headquarters Campground Road, Anthony Village Lagos with the theme: “Joy To The World.”

He also urged Nigerians to support government to ensure national development, peace and unity.
Applauding Nigerian Army for replacing the death sentences meted out to 66 soldiers with 10 years imprisonment, Daniel said: “The judgment is a good one because the Bible tells us not to kill and anything that mitigates it is a welcome ground.”

The District Superintendent of the Church, Rev Adebayo Adeniran asked Nigerians to put their hope in God like never before and keep praying for peace to continually reign in the country, stressing the need for Nigerians to shun sin and imbibe the fear of God in order to experience divine transformation in the country.

Adeniran added that Nigerians should approach the New Year with faith and do away with wasting resources like prodigal children. Some of the dignitaries at the concert are: former Head of Interim Government Chief Ernest Shonekan, the Vice-President’s mother, Lady Bisi Osinbajo, former Lafarge Chairman Chief Olusegun Osunkeye, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) executives and others.

In his words: “We should stop behaving like prodigal sons who are wasting the resources that God gave to them, we should be responsible as a nation, responsible followership and leadership who know that they are accountable to a creator that whatever resources they have been given to use, they will give account of it to God of heaven who sees the leadership and followership in the secret of their homes.”
