In Akwa Ibom Celebrated artiste buried in magnificent shoe casket
The children of a celebrated
artiste in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria known as Artist Ite, has buried
their father in an amazing casket in the shape of a shoe.
The inspiration behind the creativity, being that Ite had been a renowned artiste and the casket used as a tribute to him.
As
strange as it may seem, it would not be the first time someone has
opted for a far from ordinary casket, as there has been reports of a
burial of a fisherman who was buried in a casket shaped like a fish.
According to a facebook user, Emmanuel Emmanuel Udoh, who was reportedly at the burial:
"Today
I was at the Burial ceremony of one of the greatest artists to come out
of the south south to pay my last respect. Indeed he left a big shoe to
be filled. A great artist and sculpture.
"This masterpiece casket was done by 2 of his kids who took after him. Both great graduates of Fine Arts!"
The
casket was a giant gold shoe, which seems which seems to open at the
middle forming a casket but also looks to be very heavy.
Artiste Ite was given a burial befitting his status as a creative mind.
