In Abuja. Expert tasks NASS on passage of building code
According to him, the activities of quacks and other sharp practices in
building will continue to linger in the country until the relevant laws
are enacted and enforced.
Prof. Akin Akindoyemi, former Chairman of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), has urged the National Assembly to ensure quick passage of the law to enforce the National Building Code.
Akindoyemi
made the call on Tuesday in Abuja in an interview with the News Agency
of Nigeria (NAN) at the sideline of the 2015 Builders Congress organised
by CORBON.
The theme of the congress is "Nigerian Building Industry and the National Economy: Synergies and Opportunities’’.
The
professor noted that the National Assembly sponsored the bill for the
enforcement of the National Building Code six years ago but never
actualised it.
