Fayose Accuses Buhari of Releasing N12.5bn from TSA to APC
The controversial governor who said Buhari is a resemblance of
ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in whose administration the rule of law
was not respected stressed that he is not surprised at their military
background.
Fayose stated these on Monday at the Confluence stadium in Lokoja
during the grand finale of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally.
He added that looking critically at the administration of APC at the federal level, people have discovered that the Buhari-led government does not possess an iota of human rights observance, saying the president only concentrated on chasing PDP members on allegation of corruption when many of his men were facing trial for gross corrupt practices.
However, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed,
has dismissed as a contrived distraction the alleged fraud in the
Treasury Single Account (TSA) and the rumoured diversion of the TSA
funds to bankroll elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States.
In a statement issued on Monday, the minister said if those behind the
accusation had allowed themselves some measure of honesty, they would
have realized that there has not and there will be no such impunity
under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
''It is understandable that the psyche of those who are making the
frivolous allegations concerning the TSA has been badly affected by the
impunity that permeated the country under the immediate past
Administration, when unappropriated funds were freely used to finance
elections and the public till was seen as an extension of personal piggy
banks,” he countered.
