Cultists kill 20-year-old boy in Asaba
A 20-year old secondary school leaver identified as Isichei Paul was
Tuesday, murdered at Okwe quarters in Asaba, Delta State, by suspected
cultists who had been on rampage in the area.
It was gathered that Paul was killed during a misunderstanding among the suspected cultists. The argument reportedly degenerated and one of the suspected cultists allegedly shot Paul at a close range.
According to reports, during the face-off, the victim was invited through a telephone call and was held hostage by the suspected cultists. The suspects had allegedly descended on the victim and inflicted deep cuts on him before shooting and killing him.
The State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, confirming the incident, saying,“Residents, who were interviewed, said they heard sound of gunshot, which made them scamper for safety.
“The police is however on top of the situation and we shall uncover the group of the suspects and bring them to book,” Muka said.
