APC, PDP and the Needless Altercation over Ministers

Amedia altercation broke out last week between the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party over the quality of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial appointees. The argument was unsurprising given the love for frivolity among politicians in the country. But it was all unnecessary.

PDP had alleged that the ministers did not inspire hope for change in the populace. This prompted an equally hash response from APC, which accused the former ruling party of appointing mostly  scoundrels, concubines, and thugs as ministers during its 16-year-old reign that ended with the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan at the last general election.

Nigerians have seen enough of these stage quarrels. What they want to see now is transformational leadership from the politicians. APC has promised change from the old order to a new one. They should be allowed to deliver it. And politicians must desist from the attitude of condemning everything done by their opponents.
