ABIA. The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, has organised a road show on cancer awareness in Umuahia.

           

The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, has organised a road show on cancer awareness in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.This comes as part of activities to create awareness on cancer prevention and treatment in the state. 

The road show led by wife of the Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, hundreds of women, including men, took part in the walk through the major streets of Umuahia metropolis.

 They carried placards with inscriptions “early detection saves lives” ,”regular self-examination can prevent cancer,” as well as sharing pamphlets on health as it concerns the disease.

 Mrs Ikpeazu also said that the cancer walk awareness campaign was to increase attention and support for early detection and treatment of the disease.
